Responsible for the design and planning of deepwater well completions, delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective production. Provide technical integration across subsurface, drilling, subsea, production, well integrity, intervention, supply chain and offshore operations.
Primary Functions/Responsibilities:
- Develop basis of design, completion philosophy, schematics and detailed execution programs.
- Develop sand-control solutions, including sanding risk assessment, sand-control method selection, screen sizing, laboratory qualification testing.
- Design upper and lower completions, including tubing, packers, downhole safety valves, gauges, flow-control equipment and sand-control systems.
- Perform completion engineering analyses, including tubing stress, hydraulics, torque-and-drag, and inflow performance evaluations.
- Develop well unloading, flowback, production startup, and intervention strategies throughout the well life cycle.
- Ensure compatibility between the completion, tubing hanger, subsea tree, wellhead, controls and intervention systems.
- Develop installation procedures, operational contingencies, barrier diagrams and detailed risk assessments.
- Lead technical reviews, peer assists, DWOPs. CWOPs, and readiness reviews.
- Ensure regulatory approvals, equipment, services and long-lead materials are available when required.
- Prepare cost estimates, schedules and contracting strategies; monitor expenditure and operational performance.
- Prepare technical specifications and support tendering, bid evaluation, supplier qualification, FAT and SIT activities.
- Coordinate service companies and verify compliance with approved programs, contracts and HSE requirements.
- Track NPT, equipment reliability and completion performance; prepare end-of-well reports and capture lessons learned.
- Provide real-time engineering support during offshore completion operations and resolve technical or operational problems.
- Support well handover, startup, integrity management and future intervention planning.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote consistent application of completions engineering practices.
HSE Roles:
