Job summary

EP Engineering in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Staff Engineer in Wells Engineering with extensive offshore drilling experience to lead well construction and offshore operations.

You will oversee daily drilling activities, ensure safety and well integrity management, and apply SIMOPS principles across offshore sites with a focus on efficiency and risk mitigation.

Required IWCF Level 4 certification, strong communication, and proven offshore leadership to drive successful well programs.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Well Engineering discipline
• 2+ years in a drilling operation position managing offshore drilling activity
• IWCF Level 4 Supervisor Certificate for Surface BOP Stack
• Proven ability in oil and gas well designs and offshore well construction operations
• Experience overseeing daily drilling operations offshore
• Strong focus on personal and process safety; well control knowledge

Responsibilities

• Lead offshore well construction and daily drilling operations.
• Ensure safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Manage SIMOPS and offshore activities to meet project objectives.
• Oversee well integrity management and CSW controls.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Well Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years in a drilling operation position directly responsible for managing offshore drilling activity.
• Holder of IWCF Level 4, Supervisor Certificate for Surface BOP Stack.
• Proven ability in oil and gas well designs. knowledgeable about latest developments related to drilling and completions.
• Expertise in offshore well construction operations and proven ability to oversee daily drilling operations.
• Strong operational focus and understanding of personal and process safety.
• Thorough understanding of well control, well barriers, and MOC.
• Knowledgeable in CWI operations, including Well Integrity Management.
• Experienced in simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) offshore.
• Good analytical, communication, and writing skills, with PC fluency.
• Skilled in using industry standard well engineering software and interpretation of results.
• Prior experience working with tender assisted drilling rigs would be beneficial.
