Job summary

Flex is seeking a skilled Debug Engineer to join our team in Prai, Penang. You will support testing and validation of PCBA and firmware, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to improve product quality and reliability.

Responsibilities include analyzing failures, configuring FPGA/BGA hardware, preparing technical reports, and driving corrective actions. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years of PCBA experience are required.

Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Debug Engineer located in Prai, Penang.

What a typical day looks like:

• Understands conditions under which tests are to be conducted and sequences and phases of test operations.
• Prepares technical summary reports for use by electronic or software engineering, and management personnel.
• Interfaces and confers with engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems such as product or system malfunctions, incomplete test data, data interpretation or coding issues.
• Uses computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electronic products and systems or software for examination purpose.
• Allocates defect causes to the various sources e.g. process, material, and prepares reports for follow other involved like quality, purchasing, SQA.
• Interferes with floor support, test technicians and test operators on test hardware and/or software, as well as proper problem solving techniques.
• Resolves test yield problems by performing investigation of root causes, developing and coordinating corrective action measures and monitoring improvements.
• Evaluate and configure digital circuits using Field programable Gate Array (FPGA) and Ball Grid Array (BGA).
• Resolves failures from Point of origin / point of detection.
• Evaluates and interprets test data and product performance with proper evidence of design related Failure Analysis Report.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Requires at least 5 years of experience in PCBA debug, validation, or failure analysis.
• Typically required to have a mix of technical skills, hands‑on experience, and soft skills to effectively diagnose and resolve PCBA issues.
