Job summary

ABB is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to perform on-site and remote diagnostics on DCS/PLC systems in hydro power plants and industrial facilities across APAC, with a hybrid work model in Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand. The role requires planning, fault diagnosis, and delivering high-quality service with strong customer communication.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in field service, ABB PLC/DCS experience, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering with hands-on field service experience.
• Experience servicing PLC/DCS systems in hydro power or industrial facilities.
• Strong communication and documentation skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and execute field service on DCS/PLC systems per customer orders and ABB quality standards.
• Perform on-site and remote diagnostics to identify issues and provide root-cause analysis.
• Communicate timelines clearly, manage expectations, and ensure first-time-right execution.
• Prepare material lists and ensure parts availability and quality before service.
• Collaborate with customers on-site to identify improvements and potential system enhancements.
