Job summary

ABB seeks a skilled Field Service Engineer to perform technical service on DCS and PLC systems across hydro power plants and industrial facilities in the APAC region. You will troubleshoot complex equipment, communicate service timelines clearly, and ensure high safety and quality standards in on-site and remote settings.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics and at least 3 years of field service experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on field service experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of PLC/DCS systems.
• Proven expertise servicing multiple DCS system types with strong understanding of hydro power generation processes.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to customer satisfaction by planning and executing service work per customer order and expectations.
• Deliver on-site or remote service tasks, troubleshoot equipment, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Prepare material lists and ensure availability and quality of parts for service activities.
• Plan and execute work with a first-time-right approach, meeting quality standards and timelines.
• Document all customer reports and generate technical analyses for sign-off.

Your work directly impacts customer satisfaction, operational reliability, and ABB's reputation for service excellence.Work Model: Hybrid #LI-Hybrid, Onsite #LI-OnsiteThis role is contributing to Automation Energy Industries Excitation Business.Locations: Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, or Thailand.You will be mainly responsible for:Contributing to customer satisfaction by planning and executing service work as per customer order and expectation(s).Ensuring customer retention by delivering superior customer experience and effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations.
