Job summary

This Engineer, Database Service is responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of database administration to meet the business needs and service level for ORACLEplus another db flavourMSSQL / MYSQL / POSTGRES / Mongo. Provide 1st and 2nd level operational database support.

Job Description:

Job responsibilities:

• Monitor the tickets (SR, Incident, Change request) acknowledge timely and assist within agreed service level, maintain the database configuration & documentation; provide regular reporting to relevant parties.
• Ensure service level meet requirement. Prompt action and propose and implement action plan when required.
• Monitor and maintain databases according to standard operations procedures.
• Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.
• Perform performance tuning and resource optimization as required.
• Maintaining a knowledge base to ensure database intellectual property is retained.
• Work on any other DB related requests as and when needed.
• Provide operational database support.
• Follow security and audit guidelines
• Maintain dataguard and ensure DR in synch all time
• Monitor and maintain database backups

Job requirements:

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• EDB Professional Certification
• Oracle Professional Certification
• MS SQL Professional Certification
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Oracle(Standalone +RAC/Cluster)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in PostgreSQL(Standalone +Cluster)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in MS SQL (Standalone +Cluster)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in MYSQL (Standalone +Cluster)
• Extensive experience in managing common Database platform like Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL & MongoDB including Cluster architecture
• Experience in performing database Patching, backup & recovery as well as excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skill is a must (Including cluster architecture)
• Implement Database hardening as per CIS Benchmarks.
• EDB Cluster management using EFM.
• Implement and manage Audit, Backup & Monitoring of DBs.
