CTOS Data Systems in Malaysia is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize enterprise database platforms. The DBA will oversee over 100 production databases, ensuring their performance and security while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, experience managing databases in financial environments, and proficiency in various RDBMS and NoSQL platforms. Certifications in cloud environments are advantageous.

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Database Administrator (DBA) to manage and optimize enterprise database platforms supporting mission‑critical applications. This role involves overseeing more than 100 production databases across hybrid environments, ensuring performance, availability, scalability, and security. The DBA will perform proactive monitoring, performance tuning, patching, and upgrades, while collaborating with cross‑functional teams on database design, capacity planning, and migration projects—including transitions from legacy systems. The position requires strong technical expertise, analytical problem‑solving, and flexibility to support off‑hours operations when required.
The role will also be expected to contribute to technical documentation and participate in project planning and implementation.
1. Bachelor’s Degree, PostGraduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
2. Certifications in RDBMS (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server) or NoSQL platforms (MongoDB, Cassandra) to validate expertise in database administration and operations.
3. Cloud certifications including AWS Certified SysOps Administrator or equivalent cloud credentials will be an added advantage).
1. 3–7 years of hands‑on experience managing production databases in enterprise or financial environments.
2. Experience working in 24x7 operations environments, including incident response and SLA adherence.
3. Experience planning and executing database upgrades, platform transitions, and legacy system migrations.
4. Proven experience with AWS RDS, EC2, and cloud‑native database services.
1. Strong knowledge of RDBMS concepts and database administration best practices.
2. Hands‑on experience with MySQL, Oracle/Tibero, MSSQL, PostgreSQL
3. Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) and cloud environments (AWS primarily) will be an added advantage.
4. Proficiency in SQL, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
5. Expertise in backup, restore, replication, and clustering.
6. Strong Linux command‑line and shell scripting skills.
7. Knowledge of Python or PowerShell will be an added advantage.
8. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
9. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and support off‑hours operations.
