Job summary

Able Perfect Sdn Bhd invites a Data Science & Automation Engineering Intern to join our team in Malaysia. You will design and deploy intelligent automation workflows, build data pipelines, and deliver dashboards that empower business units with real-time insights.

High performers may receive a full-time conversion after the internship. You will work alongside our engineers to apply AI/ML techniques, collaborate with multiple departments, and gain hands-on experience building scalable data

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in or recent graduate from a top university in CS/DS/Analytics/Engineering/Mathematics.
• Strong programming in Python required.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational/non-relational databases.
• Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals (supervised learning, model evaluation, basic NLP).
• Problem-solving mindset with systematic thinking.
• Clear communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Build Automation Projects by designing AI-powered workflows using Python and automation tools.
• Develop New Systems: architect data pipelines and analytics dashboards for real-time insights.
• Own Real Projects: lead end-to-end automation initiatives from requirements to deployment.
• Work with AI & ML: apply AI/LLM techniques to business challenges.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with department heads and product teams.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Data Science & Automation Engineering Intern, you'll work alongside our core team to design, build, and deploy intelligent systems that automate critical business workflows, optimize departmental processes, and implement next-generation data platforms.

High performers in this program will be offered full-time conversion.

THE ROLE: WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO

Build Automation Projects:

• Design and implement AI-powered workflows using Python, ML frameworks, and automation tools to eliminate manual processes across departments (finance, HR, operations, customer service, etc.)

Develop New Systems:

• Architect and deploy data pipelines, analytics dashboards, and intelligent systems that give departments real-time insights and autonomous decision-making

Own Real Projects:

• Lead end-to-end ownership of 2-3 meaningful automation initiatives from requirements gathering to production deployment

Work with AI & ML:

• Apply current AI/LLM technologies, machine learning models, and data science techniques to solve business challenges

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Partner with department heads, stakeholders, and product teams to understand workflows and deliver impact

Data Management:

• Build robust data infrastructure, databases, and ETL pipelines to support automation initiatives

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-Have:

• Currently enrolled in or recent graduate from a top university (Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field)
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational/non-relational databases
• Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals (supervised learning, model evaluation, basic NLP)
• Problem-solving mindset—you break down messy problems systematically
• Clear communication skills (you can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders)

Nice-to-Have:

• Excel proficiency (pivot tables, data manipulation, dashboard building)—useful for communicating insights to non-technical teams
• Experience with ML frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) or containerization (Docker)
• Knowledge of automation/workflow tools (Zapier, RPA frameworks, orchestration tools)
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, or web development
• Hands-on experience with LLMs or generative AI
• Git version control & CI/CD pipelines
