Job summary

Chery Malaysia is seeking a Data Protection Manager to lead PDPA compliance, data privacy programs, and corporate governance across manufacturing, retail, and supply chain functions. You will develop policies, conduct DPIAs, manage RoPA and cross-border data transfer safeguards, and drive training across all departments to uphold high standards of compliance and ethics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Compliance, or related field.
• 5+ years in developing and managing compliance programs including PDPA and data governance policies.
• In-depth knowledge of PDPA and cross-border data transfer regulations.
• Strong communication, leadership, and training skills; ability to educate employees at all levels.
• Experience in manufacturing, retail, or automotive sectors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee PDPA compliance across functions and ensure proper documentation of processing activities.
• Develop, implement, and maintain PDPA policies and procedures across operations.
• Conduct DPIAs and manage Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) and Data Inventory Mapping.
• Lead cross-border data transfer safeguards and incident response planning.
• Develop data compliance training programs and raise awareness across departments.
• Coordinate with risk and audit teams to monitor compliance and report to senior management.
