Job summary

Chery Malaysia is seeking a Data Protection Manager to oversee the company’s PDPA compliance, data governance, and business ethics initiatives across manufacturing, retail, and supply chain operations.

The role leads cross-functional training, DPIAs, data inventory mapping, incident response, and regulatory reporting to ensure adherence to PDPA and internal policies while supporting risk mitigation and governance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in law, business admin, compliance, or related field.
• At least 5 years creating and managing compliance programs (PDPA, data governance).
• Experience drafting SOPs, policies and governance frameworks.
• Fluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee PDPA compliance across functions and cross-border data transfers.
• Lead data protection and corporate compliance programs.
• Develop and deliver PDPA and data compliance training.
• Advise on data-related compliance issues across manufacturing, retail, and IT.
• Prepare compliance reports for senior management and regulators.
