STRATEQ GROUP (Strateq Sdn Bhd) is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure and pipelines supporting data-driven initiatives. This full-time role is based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

You will design data models, implement ETL/ELT pipelines, and ensure governance and security. The role includes mentoring, client training, pre-sales involvement, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives.

Qualifications

3+ years in ETL/ELT tools experience (Talend, Databricks, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, EAI)

Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team at STRATEQ GROUP (Strateq Sdn Bhd). As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust data infrastructure and pipelines to support the company's data-driven initiatives. This is a full-time position based in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

What you'll be doing

Perform complex data model to accommodate data warehouse/ data lake/ enterprise data hub requirements.
Design, develop, and maintain data models, data pipeline using data fabric/ETL tools.
Ensure data governance and security practices are maintained according to organizational policies and regulations.
Provide technical guidance to junior, ensuring knowledge transfer and continuity.
Provide technical training to clients.
Document processes, standards, and best practices.
Participate in pre-sales activities.
Provide ongoing support to clients, ensuring they can fully leverage the solutions provided.
Commit to project timelines, deliverables effectively.
Work closely with internal teams and project managers, to ensure solutions align with business objectives.
Any other duties as requested by the Reporting Officer or HOD.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Human Computer Interactive (HCI) or a related field.

Must have 3+ years' experience in MS SSIS as ETL/ data pipeline development platform

Good to have 5+ years of working in data warehouse project implementation or support and maintenance involvement.

Min 3 years experience in ETL/ELT tools such as Talend, Databricks, AWS Glue, Azure Data Factory, EAI).
Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
Experience in database and data warehousing using SQL, NoSQL, and RDBMS technologies such as MS SQL, Azure Cosmos DB, AWS DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, etc.
Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Amazon S3, Azure, Snowflake) is an added advantage.
Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) is an added advantage.
Experience in version control tools such as Github, etc.
Experience with solution architecture draft/review.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, strong communication and collaboration skills.
