Job summary

Faculty Digital PTE LTD in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with at least 6 years of experience to design, build, and maintain data pipelines and platforms powering analytics and AI initiatives.

You will work with SQL, Python, and cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift), mentor juniors, and ensure data governance while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of professional data engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL with at least 4 years hands-on.
• 3 years of Python for data processing and automation.
• Hands-on with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift).
• Experience with Airflow and dbt.
• Excellent communication in English; Chinese/Cantonese helpful.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelines across enterprise sources.
• Model and transform data for analytics, including warehouse schemas and quality tests.
• Configure customer data platforms, covering ingestion, identity resolution, and activation.
• Build data foundations behind client AI and personalization use cases.
• Set up monitoring, alerts, and data lineage to catch failures early.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business questions into data requirements.
• Lead and mentor junior data engineers in the team.
• Ensure data handling meets client governance, security, and privacy requirements.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join ourdynamic team in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur or Indonesia, Batam. Theideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of professional dataengineering experience, with a strong background in SQL, Python, andcloud data platforms. The ability to communicate in English isessential. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal rolein designing, building, and maintaining the data pipelines andplatforms that power our clients' analytics, personalisation, and AIinitiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain batch and streaming data pipelinesacross enterprise source systems.
• Model and transform data for analytics and activation, includingwarehouse schemas and data quality tests.
• Implement and configure customer data platforms, coveringingestion, identity resolution, and audience activation.
• Build and maintain the data foundations behind client AI andpersonalisation use cases.
• Set up monitoring, alerting, and data lineage so pipeline failuresare caught before they reach the client.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate businessquestions into concrete data requirements.
• Lead and mentor junior data engineers in the team.
• Ensure data handling meets client governance, security, andprivacy requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems,Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional data engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL with a minimum of 4 years of hands-onexperience.
• 3 years of experience using Python for data processing andautomation.
• Hands-on experience with at least one cloud data warehouse such asBigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
• Experience with orchestration and transformation tooling such asAirflow and dbt.
• Solid understanding of data modelling, incremental processing, andpipeline design principles.
• Exposure to customer data platforms such as Treasure Data or AdobeExperience Platform is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in English, Chinese, or Cantonese.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
