Job summary

Millennium Technology Services is hiring a Data Centre Technician for a 12-month renewable contract in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The role offers hands-on exposure to server hardware, rack & stack, cabling, and IT infrastructure support in a fast-growing data centre environment.

The position requires an IT-related certificate or diploma and onsite work in Johor Bahru. Start date is immediate or short notice, with a strong path for growth within data centre operations.

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in IT, computer engineering, networking or related field.
• Fresh graduates with internship experience may be considered.
• Basic servers, switches, cabling knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support daily data centre operations and onsite technical activities
• Assist with server installation, rack & stack and hardware checks
• Support basic server, network and storage hardware troubleshooting
• Assist with hardware replacement, physical inspection and break‑fix activities
• Perform fiber / copper cabling, cable tracing, labelling and housekeeping
• Provide remote hands support to engineers, vendors and internal teams
• Support equipment movement, asset checking and inventory updates
• Conduct data hall walkthroughs and report any abnormal findings
• Follow site SOPs, safety requirements, access-control procedures and escalation processes
• Prepare basic activity updates, incident notes and work completion reports

Requirements

• Certificate / Diploma in IT, Computer Engineering, Networking, Electrical / Electronics or related field
• Candidates with data centre, IT support, server hardware, network cabling or infrastructure support experience are encouraged to apply
• Fresh graduates with strong technical internship experience may also be considered
• Basic understanding of servers, switches, cabling or networking will be an advantage
• Able to work onsite in Johor Bahru
• Able to start within short notice preferred
