Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, seeks a Data Centre Technician (Tier 2) to oversee maintenance activities, coordinate changes across data centers, and provide onsite support during scheduled windows. You will review MOPs, risk assessments, and SOPs, manage vendor change requests, monitor schedules, and respond to incidents, ensuring emergency procedures are activated and records maintained.

A 1–2 year onsite background is required with a tailored training plan and strong

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of onsite data center operations experience.
• Tailored training plan related to the role.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire suppression and monitoring systems.
• Strong communication skills for updates and issue elevation.
• Familiarity with incident, change, and risk-based vendor maintenance reviews.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance activities and coordinate change implementation across data centers
• Provide onsite support during scheduled maintenance windows
• Review and validate technical documents such as MOPs, Risk Assessments, and SOPs
• Manage vendor change requests through the internal change management process
• Consolidate maintenance schedules and monitor change records
• Support risk-based approvals and escalations, including preparation for CAB reviews
• Respond to facility incidents and alarms by verifying affected areas and coordinating with providers
• Ensure emergency procedures are activated where required
• Maintain accurate maintenance, change, and audit records
• Provide regular operational updates on facility activities, support requests, and performance

Requirements

• 1–2 years of relevant onsite experience in data center operations, facilities support, or a similar environment
• Ability to complete a tailored training plan related to the role
• Working knowledge of data center infrastructure systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire suppression, and monitoring systems
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide updates clearly, elevate issues promptly, and work effectively within structured maintenance and incident processes
• Familiarity with incident management, change management, and risk-based review of vendor maintenance activities in operational environments
