Job summary

Bridge Data Centres Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking an on-site facilities engineer to lead daily operations and maintenance of critical data centre infrastructure in Cyberjaya. You will oversee HVAC, power, fire and life-safety systems, and manage change controls while coordinating with vendors and internal teams.

The role requires a Professional Engineering Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical engineering with at least 3 years’ related experience, plus strong knowledge of CMMS and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Engineering diploma with min. 3 years relevant work experience.
• Electrical switching certificate and/or license (Chargeman) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations and maintenance tasks on assigned shifts with minimal client disruption.
• Troubleshoot, repair, service requests, and follow-up inspections to maintain uninterrupted facility operations.
• Operate and inspect critical infrastructure systems (HVAC, CRAC, UPS, batteries, PDUs, generators, BMS, fire protection, life safety, digital security).
• Ensure Change Control Applications and SOPs compliance.
• Supervise vendor maintenance and escalate anomalies to Lead Engineer.
• Oversee change management activities including LOTO and system modifications.
• Monitor fire alarm and safety systems; manage enable/disable as needed.
• Provide guidance and training to junior engineers and technicians.
• Support preventive maintenance planning, scheduling, parts ordering and inventory.
• Operate monitoring center during shifts: incident escalation, reporting, root cause analysis, service restoration.
• Ensure SLA compliance with timely escalation and client reporting.
• Manage work orders, procure materials, document work and close jobs.
• Promote safety per local regulations and company policies; maintain clean, safe workspaces.

Job description

Lead and manage daily operations and maintenance tasks on assigned shifts, ensuring optimal performance of critical systems with minimal disruption to clients.

Perform and oversee troubleshooting, repairs, service requests, and follow-up inspections to maintain uninterrupted facility operations.

Operate, maintain, and inspect critical infrastructure systems including HVAC, CRAC, UPS, batteries, PDUs, generators, BMS, fire protection, life safety, and digital security systems.

Ensure compliance with Change Control Application Processes and standard operating procedures.

Supervise vendor maintenance work, verify adherence to work methods, and escalated anomalies to Lead Engineer for resolution.

Oversee and execute change management activities, including LOTO procedures and system modifications.

Monitor fire alarm and safety systems, including enable/disable functions as necessary.

Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers and technicians.

Support and implement preventive maintenance programs, including scheduling, supervision, parts ordering, and inventory management.

Operate the monitoring center during shifts, handling incident escalation, reporting, root cause analysis, and service restoration.

Ensure SLA compliance, including timely incident escalation and reporting to clients.

Manage work orders, source materials, document completed work, and finalize job orders.

Promote safety by adhering to local regulations and company policies, identifying hazards, using PPE, and ensuring clean, safe workspaces.

Maintain accurate inventory of tools and supplies, initiate procurement requests, and monitor stock levels.

Ensure regulatory compliance across infrastructure operations and report discrepancies to senior management.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the company.

REQUIREMENTS

Proficient in English through all mediums of communication. Ability to write and review good quality detailed work scripts, methods of procedure, and standard operating procedures. Prepare incident report.

Good knowledge of all laws that govern building management and maintenance, including building safety, emergency evacuation and environment protection.

Professional Engineering Diploma in an Engineering field (Mechanical or Electrical) with min. 3 years of relevant work experience. Candidate with other professional certificate has advantage.

A valid Electrical switching certificate and/or license (Chargeman) for LV/HT electrical system is preferred

Some technical knowledge with hands on knowledge/experience and understanding of critical data center systems, including HVAC, Standby emergency power, uninterruptible power supplies, and associated infrastructure.

Proficient in computer applications and software, including commercial computerized maintenance management systems, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
