TIMESCONSULT in Cyberjaya, Malaysia, is seeking a Data Centre Operations Lead to manage daily data centre activities, ensuring reliable power, cooling, network, servers, and security systems while minimising downtime.

You will lead the engineering team during shifts, coordinate maintenance and incident response, and ensure compliance with ISO and SOC 2 standards, coordinating with IT, facilities, and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Bachelor's degree, or relevant technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in data centre operations, critical facilities management, or infrastructure operations.
• Preferably 2 years of team leadership or supervisory experience in a shift-based operational environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of critical data centre infrastructure, including UPS, generators, electrical distribution, HVAC, cooling systems, and environmental monitoring.

Responsabilités

• Oversee daily data centre operations during assigned shifts, ensuring reliability and availability of critical infrastructure.
• Conduct routine inspections and monitor system performance to identify issues and minimise downtime.
• Respond promptly to system alarms, operational issues, and equipment failures.
• Lead, supervise, and coordinate the engineering team to ensure smooth shift operations and safety.
• Allocate tasks, manage shift coverage, and provide technical guidance to team members.
• Act as primary contact for technical escalations and operational emergencies.
• Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of critical infrastructure (UPS, generators, electrical systems, cooling equipment).
• Coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, software, network, and infrastructure issues with internal teams and vendors.
• Ensure backup systems and disaster recovery arrangements remain operational and effective.
• Lead incident response and manage escalations involving infrastructure failures, power disruptions, cooling issues, network outages, and security incidents.
• Coordinate emergency response activities, conduct root-cause investigations, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure incidents and resolutions are properly documented.
• Ensure data centre operations comply with ISO and SOC 2 standards, safety procedures, and best practices.
• Enforce physical security, access control, and workplace safety requirements.
• Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
• Prepare shift handover reports, incident reports, maintenance records, and performance updates.
• Monitor infrastructure performance indicators and recommend improvements.
• Work with IT, facilities management, and external vendors for maintenance, servicing, and emergency support.
• Identify and implement improvements to procedures, workflows, and maintenance practices.
• Keep up to date with emerging technologies and data centre operation best practices.

4. Incident Management and Emergency Response

• Coordinate emergency response activities, conduct root-cause investigations, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure all incidents and resolutions are properly documented.

5. Compliance, Safety and Security

• Ensure data centre operations comply with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, safety procedures, and best practices, including ISO and SOC 2.
• Enforce physical security, access control, and workplace safety requirements.
• Support internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

6. Reporting and Operational Documentation

• Prepare shift handover reports, incident reports, maintenance records, and operational performance updates.
• Monitor key infrastructure performance indicators and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.

7. Stakeholder and Vendor Coordination

• Work closely with IT, facilities management, and other departments to ensure effective operational support.
• Coordinate with external service providers and vendors for maintenance, equipment servicing, and emergency support.
• Identify and implement improvements to operational procedures, workflows, and maintenance practices.
• Keep up to date with emerging technologies, industry developments, and data centre operational best practices.

Job Requirements
