Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Property Consultants Pte Ltd seeks a Data Centre Assistant Facility Manager to provide general FM services and monitor facility operations within a data centre environment. You will work with facilities managers on procurement, contracts, invoicing, and maintain safe, compliant operations.

The role emphasizes energy management, coordination of maintenance, and support for project teams, including during non-office hours for major DC activities.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or operational engineering discipline.
• 3–4 years of relevant engineering or critical environment experience.
• 1–2 years operating electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centre.
• Excellent people skills and ability to interact with client and vendor staff.
• Experience with continuous improvement, client relationships and documentation.
• Hands-on experience with M&E and building systems (CRAC, chillers).
• Competent in Job Hazards Analysis (JHA).

Responsibilities

• Assist FM team with tactical planning for the team's goals and objectives.
• Recommend energy management initiatives to reduce costs and improve standards.
• Provide facility-specific assistance to the project management team as needed.
• Manage and maintain facility management tasks as assigned.
• Coordinate special events in support of client or JLL.
• Assist with scheduling of maintenance activities.
• Schedule preventive maintenance and respond to urgent maintenance calls.

Job description

Data Centre Assistant Facility Manager (Soft Services)

Provide general overall FM services including continuous monitoring of facility. Work with facilities managers to handle routine management operations, including procurement of property supplies and services, issuing purchase orders, managing bid requests and service/construction contracts, and processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Key responsibilities

Assist Facility Management Team with tactical planning for the team's goals and objectives

Recommend continuous management initiatives and energy management plan, reviewing existing operations regularly to reduce cost and improve operational standards

Provide facility specific assistance to the project management team as needed or requested

Manage and maintain facility management tasks as assigned

Coordinate special events in support of client or JLL

Assist with the coordination and scheduling of maintenance activities

Schedule preventative maintenance, respond to urgent maintenance calls and participate in the creation of emergency preparedness plans

Contract administration and associated reporting

Ensure the site provision of safe working environment and compliance to HSE standards

Lead major DC activities during non-office hours where appropriate

About you

Tertiary Qualifications in a mechanical, electrical or operational engineering discipline

3 - 4 years of relevant experience in engineering or critical environment space

1 - 2 years' experience in the operation of electrical and mechanical services in Tier III or equivalent data centre or critical facility

Excellent people skills and ability to interact with a wide range of client and vendor staff

Critical environment experience within similar sized site or operation

Experienced with continuous improvement initiatives, client relationship and preparation of documentation

Hands-on experiences and knowledge in M&E and building related systems, eg CRAC, chillers

Competent in undertaking Job Hazards Analysis (JHA)
