Job summary

Oracle in Malaysia (Johor) is seeking a Data Center Technician to install, diagnose, and repair servers, storage, and networking gear within a strict change-controlled data center environment. You will support daily operations, rack and cable equipment, and perform firmware upgrades while maintaining precise documentation and safety.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5+ years in data center or mission-critical technical environment.
• Strong understanding of data center infrastructure (server/storage hardware, networking, cabling, power/cooling).
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and basic repairs of server hardware.
• Familiarity with ticketing systems, inventory management tools, and change management processes.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (standing, walking, lifting to 20kg).
• Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate documentation for inventory, repairs, and infrastructure changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams to implement and optimize processes.
• Adhere to physical security and safety practices at all times.
• Participate in emergency response and disaster recovery activities when required.
• Contribute to process improvement and best practices for data center operations.
