Job summary

Shopee Malaysia is seeking a Data Center Engineer to manage IDC facilities, servers and network equipment ensuring high availability for all regions.

You will install and configure Linux and Windows servers, maintain asset inventories, document configurations for auditing, and collaborate with partners to ensure cooling, UPS, fire suppression and related systems operate reliably under pressure.

Qualifications

Diploma or higher in Telecommunication, IT, Computer Engineering or related field.
Hands-on experience in data center operations and facility management.
Familiar with Linux, Windows servers, and VMware.
Experience with setup and configuration of server, enterprise network and SAN.
Knowledge of installing fiber and copper cross connects for routers, switches, SAN and storage.
Experience upgrading internal components including CPUs, memory, disks and cables.
Set up DHCP scopes and TCP/IP configurations.
Ability to troubleshoot physical network systems under pressure.
HVAC/CRAC, UPS, Battery and Generator knowledge is a plus.
Fast-learning and independent work; fresh graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

Setup and install server & network hardware according to business requirements
Maintain, diagnose and troubleshoot server & network system health and fix any issues that arise
Deploy and configure Linux & Windows server operating system
Manage data center assets and inventories
Maintain detailed documentation of all server and storage configurations and changes for auditing
Work with data center partners to ensure facilities like cooling, fire suppression, UPS and related systems operate properly
