DayOne Data Centers Ltd. in Malaysia is seeking a Construction Manager (MEP) to lead the end-to-end delivery of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for data center projects.

You will coordinate with site teams, contractors, and stakeholders to keep milestones, budgets, and safety on track. The role requires 10+ years in MEP construction, strong knowledge of HVAC, power distribution, fire protection, and IST testing, plus experience with CAPEX and cost control.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in construction project management within the MEP or engineering field; additional experience in data center projects is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in delivering large-scale MEP projects, with strong knowledge of HVAC, power systems, fire protection and plumbing.
• Expertise in MEP systems, local authority approval processes, and testing and commissioning of critical infrastructure in data centers, including Integrated Systems Testing (IST).
• Solid understanding of CAPEX planning, cost estimation, and total cost of ownership (TCO) for M&E systems in data centers.
• Engineering degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field.
• Proficiency in project management tools, MS Project, and MS Office, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Demonstrates initiative, collaboration, and resilience under pressure.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages in the APAC region are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the MEP construction lifecycle from planning to handover.
• Coordinate with site and contractor teams to meet milestones.
• Identify and mitigate project risks; communicate schedules, budgets, and technical updates.
• Lead MEP contract negotiations and oversee amendments with architects, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Evaluate MEP construction methods for cost-effectiveness and monitor budget adherence.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements on-site.
• Promote continuous improvement and implement QA techniques for M&E projects.
• Handover MEP systems to operations with issue resolution.
