Job summary

NCS Global Technology Sdn Bhd in Penang, Malaysia is hiring a Data Center Engineer to support server and network infrastructure operations in a fast-paced production environment. You will perform rack and stack installation, cabling, hardware troubleshooting, and incident response.

The role requires hands-on experience with enterprise technologies such as HPE servers, VMware, Windows Server, and network gear, with a strong focus on uptime and asset management.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in IT, Networking or equivalent.
• 5 years experience in Data Center / Infrastructure / IT Support role.
• Hands-on experience in server/network equipment installation and cabling.
• Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, VLAN, switch ports).
• Experience with ticketing systems (e.g. ServiceNow).
• Desirable familiarity with HPE servers (DL360/DL380 etc.), iLO, and VMware.

Responsibilities

• Perform rack & stack installation of servers, switches, and storage equipment.
• Install and manage fiber and copper cabling (RJ45, LC, SC connectors).
• Handle server deployment and configuration support.
• Perform decommissioning of equipment as required.
• Conduct hardware replacement (disks, PSUs, cables).
• Support server downtime, network link downtime, and hardware failures.
• Power checks (PDU / rack power) and network port/VLAN checks.
• Diagnose hardware via iLO or console access.
• Collaborate with L2/L3 teams to resolve outages.
• Install new servers and network devices per tickets; OS reloads & patching.
• Verify asset details and locations; manage cabling changes.
