Job summary

Schneider Electric Industries (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a System Architect – Electrical to own end-to-end electrical architecture for datacenter solutions. You will design the full power chain, size UPS systems, and ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE standards and Uptime Institute Tier requirements.

You will collaborate with KAM, segment architects, and EPC partners to translate concepts into robust, market-ready power solutions and to defend design decisions during customer discussions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (BE/BTech preferred).
• 8–14 years in datacenter electrical design, commissioning, or presales; minimum 5 years in Data Center environments.
• Demonstrated design experience: UPS systems, distribution architecture, switchgear sizing, power redundancy (N, N+1, 2N).
• Experience producing SLDs, load calculations, cable schedules, equipment specifications.
• Ability to present and defend electrical designs to customer electrical engineering teams.
• Working knowledge of BMS/DCIM integration, SNMP/Modbus protocols, power monitoring systems.
• Familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards and Uptime Institute Tier electrical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end electrical design: Design the full power chain for data centre solutions, from utility service entry to rack-level power delivery.
• Design UPS and distribution systems: Size UPS setups (2N, N+1, dual-bus) for IT and cooling loads, compute battery runtime, design primary/secondary distribution.
• Integrate monitoring, grounding and protection: Connect to BMS using SNMP/Modbus, set up alarms, define grounding and surge/lighting protection.
• Design power for AI data centres and optimise efficiency: Plan power for high-density GPU clusters, model energy performance and PUE.
• Ensure compliance: Ensure designs meet IEC, IEEE, NEC and EN 50600, Uptime Institute Tier requirements.
• Shape specifications in the market: Work with consultants/EPCs to embed Schneider Electric power solutions into standards and RFPs.
• Lead engineer-to-engineer discussions: defend design decisions and present redundancy strategy to customer teams.
• Drive bids as part of the account fighting unit: Collaborate with KAM, Segment Solution Architect, and other architects; feed lessons into standards.
