Overview
The Customer Master Data Analyst / Data Steward is responsible for the operational management, analysis and continuous improvement of customer master data used across commercial and operational systems. The role ensures customer data accuracy, completeness and compliance with governance and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update customer master data across CRM, ERP, and MDM platforms.
- Review and validate new customer account requests, updates, and hierarchies to ensure compliance with governance standards and business rules.
- Support ongoing maintenance of customer attributes including segmentation, addresses, identifiers, and account relationships.
- Analyze customer master data to identify trends, anomalies, and potential quality issues.
- Create dashboards and reports that track data quality metrics and operational KPIs.
- Support commercial reporting needs related to customer segmentation, territory alignment, and account performance.
- Monitor data quality metrics such as completeness, consistency, and duplicate records.
- Investigate and resolve data discrepancies in collaboration with the Data Quality Lead.
- Support root cause analysis and remediation of recurring data issues.
- Act as liaison between Sales Operations, Customer Service, GTS and Finance on customer data–related matters.
- Support governance initiatives by documenting data definitions, data lineage and stewardship processes.
- Participate in projects involving CRM, ERP and master data management improvements.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in data analysis, data stewardship or master data management.
- Experience working with CRM or ERP systems (e.g., Salesforce, SAP, Oracle).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
Preferred
- Experience in med tech, healthcare or life sciences.
- Familiarity with customer master data or MDM environments.
- Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Basic SQL or data querying skills.
- Understanding of data governance and data quality concepts.
