Job summary

Hirehub Management Sdn. Bhd. in Senai, Johor seeks a Customer Quality Engineer to manage customer quality activities, coordinate FATs, inspections, and 8D/RCCA processes across manufacturing projects.

You will liaise with customers, TPI, and project teams, drive corrective actions, and ensure compliance with customer specifications during fabrication and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years in Customer Quality or related manufacturing quality environment.
• Hands-on FAT, customer inspection, NDT coordination and process inspection experience.
• Strong 8D, RCCA, Root Cause Analysis using 5 Why and Fishbone methods.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage customer quality activities and act as the key liaison with customers and Third-Party Inspectors (TPI) during factory inspection and manufacturing activities.
• Coordinate customer/TPI inspection activities, including NDT, process inspection, and required quality documentation.
• Lead Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) activities, including functional and integrated testing of modules, and coordinate customer inspection and final release for shipment.
• Respond promptly to customer quality issues identified during site installation, including dimensional deviations, interface mismatches, electrical faults, and other technical issues.
• Lead 8D, RCCA, and Root Cause Analysis using tools such as 5 Why and Fishbone Diagram to identify whether issues are related to design, fabrication, production, or transportation.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Process, and Quality teams to implement corrective and preventive actions and ensure effective closure of customer complaints.
• Participate in NPI projects by reviewing customer specifications, technical requirements, and special quality requirements to identify potential quality risks.
• Translate customer requirements into internal quality standards, inspection criteria, control plans, and manufacturing requirements.
• Monitor critical manufacturing processes, including module frame welding, surface treatment/coating, primary and secondary electrical wiring, piping pressure testing, and other key processes.
• Conduct quality inspections and audits to ensure products comply with customer specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards.
• Monitor customer quality performance, identify recurring issues, and drive continuous improvement to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
• Prepare quality reports, inspection records, FAT documentation, 8D reports, and other customer-related quality documents.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Customer Quality, Quality Engineering, Project Quality, or manufacturing quality environment.
  Experience in dealing directly with customers, TPI, inspectors, contractors, and project teams.
• Hands-on experience in FAT, customer inspection, NDT coordination, process inspection, and product acceptance.
• Strong knowledge of 8D, RCCA, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and corrective/preventive action processes.
• Experience in NPI and ability to interpret customer specifications, drawings, technical requirements, and quality standards.
• Familiar with manufacturing processes such as welding, fabrication, surface treatment/coating, electrical wiring, assembly, and piping pressure testing.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and customer-handling skills.
• Able to respond quickly to customer quality issues and coordinate cross-functional teams for effective resolution.
• Good documentation and reporting skills with strong attention to detail.
• Willing to travel to customer sites and project locations when required.
• Experience in module fabrication, industrial equipment, energy, oil & gas, or project-based manufacturing is an added advantage.
