Job summary

Tally in Malaysia's Penang region is seeking an experienced estimator to analyze project specifications and prepare cost and lead-time estimates for manufacturing projects, translating customer requirements into competitive quotes.

The role collaborates with project managers, engineers, and vendors to optimize value, read blueprints, and apply CAD/ERP tools to deliver timely proposals while upholding company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years' experience estimating in a manufacturing environment with focus on sheet metal, machining, welding, and paint.
• Experience in value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand manufacturing documents.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and ERP systems, especially Epicor.

Responsibilities

Job Scope

• Adheres to all Company Policy and Procedures and Department Procedures.
• Identifies and computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements based on customer prints and specs.
• Presents prepared estimates by assembling labor and material costs.
• Communicate with project managers, engineers and customers to clarify project requirements and ensure that estimates meet the customer's needs.
• Collaborate with the project team to identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and availability of materials and services.
• Participate in project meetings and presentations.
• Adheres to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain customer and company quality requirements.

Requirement

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years' experience estimating in a manufacturing environment. Focus on sheet metal, machining, welding, paint.
• Experience in value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
• Understanding of manufacturing documents.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of CAD software.
• Requires some working knowledge of costs of painting, plating, silk-screening, and other common machining and/or sheet metal services.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and methods.
• Ability to commit to a flexible schedule and prompt arrival to scheduled shifts.
• Proficiency in ERP systems technology, Epicor knowledge preferred.

Salary: Up to RM5,500 (Negotiable depending on experience)
