Job summary

CFM Technologies Sdn Bhd is seeking a Costing Engineer to complete RFQ costing within tight timelines and to coordinate pricing that is both competitive and profitable. You will prepare detailed estimates for materials, labour, and overhead while communicating with customers to capture manufacturing requirements.

You will liaise with Engineering and Purchasing, source potential suppliers, issue RFQs, and maintain quotation documentation.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with at least 3 years in metal fabrication or related field.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Good problem solving and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Complete costing calculations for RFQ within deadlines.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour and overhead.
• Communicate with customers to understand quotation and manufacturing needs.
• Develop pricing strategies balancing competitiveness and profitability.
• Collaborate with Engineering & Purchasing, source suppliers, issue RFQ and track responses.

Job description

Complete a costing calculation (customer RFQ) within the time frame. Coordinate and review RFQ costing to ensure pricings are competitive and profitable.

Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, and overhead associated with projects or products.

Communicate with customers to understand their quotation and manufacturing needs and fulfil those customer requirements.

Understand and clarify customer documentation and RFQ in kick-off meeting. Develop and maintain pricing strategies that balance competitiveness with profitability.

Proactive to seek cost saving opportunity internally and externally.

To assist on quotation process and provide quotation on time manner and accuracy and support sales personal to confirm sales.

Work closely with team member (Engineering & Purchsing), source for potential supplier and send RFQ to supplier.

Quotation documentation filing for record purpose.

To perform other duties or tasks as assigned

Maintain strong relationships with existing customers and actively prospect for new business opportunities.

Prepare pre-sales and post-sales technical support to clients.

Collaborate with engineering and R & D teams to ensure solutions meet customer specification.

Customer Relations

Identify sales opportunities and develop new prospect customers

Handle customer complaints and work closely with customer service team to ensure customer satisfaction.

Job Requirements:

Engineering Degree with minimum 3 years’ working experience in metal fabrication or equivalent field is required for this position.

Strong in leadership & project management skills.

Able to collaborate and work well with other functional team for business success.

Good in problem solving, analytical skills.

Preferable Mandarin speaking candidate (As need to liaise with mandarin speaking clients)
