Job summary

Adventa Healthcare Sdn Bhd is seeking a Costing Analysis professional to join our team in Selangor. This full-time role supports financial operations, performing costing, variance analysis and cost reduction initiatives to enhance profitability across our healthcare operations.

Responsibilities include preparing detailed product costing, reviewing BOM data, and maintaining a costing database. You will collaborate with Engineering, Production, Procurement, QA and Sales to drive cost efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• 2–5 years' experience in costing analysis, cost accounting or financial analysis roles.
• Strong proficiency in cost accounting principles and costing methodologies.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools for data manipulation and reporting.

About the role

Adventa Healthcare Sdn Bhd is seeking a talented Costing Analysis professional to join our dynamic team in Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and strategic decision-making processes. As a Costing Analysis specialist, you will be responsible for analysing, interpreting and reporting on cost data to help drive efficiency and profitability across our healthcare operations. This role is essential to ensuring accurate financial performance monitoring and providing actionable insights to management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed costing for new and existing products, including raw materials, components, packaging, labour, machine costs, utilities, overheads, wastage, sterilisation, subcontracting, testing, and logistics costs.
• Review and analyse Bill of Materials (BOM), including material quantity, unit cost, usage, wastage, and yield.
• Compare theoretical BOM consumption against actual production consumption and investigate cost discrepancies.
• Analyse manufacturing costs by production process, machine, product, and production stage.
• Prepare and maintain standard costing based on current material prices, labour rates, machine rates, production efficiency, utilities, overheads, and wastage assumptions.
• Perform actual vs. standard cost variance analysis and investigate material, labour, machine, production, wastage, rejection, and overhead variances.
• Monitor raw material, component, packaging, and supplier price movements and assess their impact on product costs.
• Prepare supplier quotation comparison and support Procurement in identifying cost-effective sourcing options.
• Prepare costing for new products and projects in collaboration with Engineering, Production, Procurement, QA, and Sales.
• Identify and support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives involving materials, suppliers, production processes, labour, machine efficiency, wastage, scrap, logistics, and product design.
• Monitor production wastage, scrap, rejection, productivity, and efficiency against established standards or targets.
• Support machine costing, labour costing, and manufacturing overhead allocation.
• Support product profitability, gross margin, contribution margin, quotation, and tender analysis.
• Maintain an accurate and updated costing database covering material prices, labour rates, machine rates, freight, utilities, overheads, and other relevant cost components.
• Prepare monthly costing reports covering cost changes, variances, production efficiency, wastage, supplier price movements, cost savings, and product margins.
• Support Finance and Warehouse on inventory costing and valuation matters.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure costing information is accurate, complete, and traceable.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field
• Minimum of 2-5 years' experience in costing analysis, cost accounting or financial analysis roles
• Strong proficiency in cost accounting principles and costing methodologies
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools for data manipulation and reporting
• Experience with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
• Proven ability to interpret complex financial data and present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of healthcare industry operations and costing structures is highly desirable
• Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CPA or similar are advantageous
