Job summary

Ansell Global Trading Center (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in Seremban seeks a Costing Executive to manage standard costs, BOMs, and month-end close. You will partner with Operations to drive cost reduction and productivity improvements within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent preferred.
• 3–5 years related experience in an accounts/costing role.
• Knowledge of Malaysian GAAP and International Accounting Standards.
• Proficient in ERP systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials and packaging in ERP; analyze variances.
• Manage costing master data including BOMs, routings, and costing structures.
• Execute month-end close for manufacturing costing, inventory valuation and COGS.
• Perform detailed cost and variance analysis to identify opportunities for cost optimization.
• Review overhead allocation and absorption rates for accurate product costing.
• Provide costing insights to support cost reduction and productivity improvements.
• Prepare and maintain standard cost roll-ups for new finished goods and year-on-year cost analysis.
• Support forecasts, budgets and business plans with costing assumptions.

Ansell is looking for a Costing Executive to join our team in Seremban!

In this position you will play a vital role in costing books closure, standard costs roll up, involvement in budget and forecast preparation, preparation of month end reporting. This role also requires supporting Costing Manager in providing information to Operations Team for Cost reduction/ productivity improvement initiatives.

What your role will be?

• Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials and packaging materials in D365, and perform analysis of Actual vs Standard Cost variances to identify cost drivers and improvement opportunities.
• Manage costing master data, including Bills of Materials (BOM), routings, manufacturing costing structures, and inventory valuation methods, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and accurate cost reporting
• Execute month-end closing activities related to manufacturing costing, inventory valuation, and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), ensuring timely and accurate submission of management reports and reconciliations
• Perform detailed cost and variance analysis, including material, labor, overhead, and manufacturing variances, to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost optimization
• Review and monitor production overhead allocation and absorption rates to ensure accurate product costing and financial reporting
• Partner with Operations and cross-functional teams by providing costing insights and financial analysis to support cost reduction, productivity improvement, and operational efficiency initiatives
• Prepare and maintain standard cost roll-ups for new finished goods and analyze year-on-year cost changes to support pricing and business planning activities
• Support the preparation of forecasts, annual budgets, and business plans by providing costing assumptions, financial analysis, and operational insights
• Responsible for half year and full year inventory count and to ensure it is being conducted properly and timely
• Support Fixed Asset management activities, including capitalization, asset verification, and maintenance of accurate asset records, while conducting periodic assessments of inventory and fixed asset write-off risks to mitigate financial exposure and improve asset utilization
• Assist in ad-hoc task or reporting as required by superior and support other functions within the Finance Department.

What will you bring to Ansell?

• Bachelor's degree with major in Accounting or professional Accountancy qualification, in ACCA, MACPA, CIMA or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years related working experience in an Accounts Dept. in a medium/large manufacturing Organization and skilled in using personal computers.
• Acquires knowledge of Costing and General Accounting and thorough knowledge of Malaysian GAAP and International Accounting Standards.
• Possess extensive experience with ERP systems and other office suite software.
