Job summary

Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd is seeking a Procurement/Costing Engineer in Malaysia to drive parts costing strategy and supplier cost reviews. The role involves RFQ assessments, VAVE activities, and local supplier development to support new model development and mass production parts.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, with 2+ years in procurement/costing roles, and strong project management and bilingual skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chains, or related field.
• Able to read and understand engineering/technical 2D drawings.
• At least 2 years of experience in Procurement/Purchasing/Sourcing/Costing Engineering or Technical Buyer; automotive experience is a plus.
• Possess valid driving license and able to travel.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Proven skills in project management.

Responsibilities

• Involve in parts costing strategy and synchronize with global direction.
• Request for Quotation (RFQ) and review supplier quotations and cost analysis before proposing to management.
• Propose maker layout during evaluation based on quality, cost, and delivery judgments.
• Perform audits at supplier premises.
• Prepare cost analysis and Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE) for new model development and mass production parts.
• Source and develop local suppliers as part of localization activities.
• Reflect and update latest costs based on exchange rate fluctuations and trends; analyze changes.
• Negotiate with suppliers to meet reasonable parts cost targets.
