KPJ Healthcare Berhad in Malaysia is seeking a Cook/Kitchen Assistant to support our hospital dining services. You will check menus and production sheets, plan cooking schedules, prepare food according to standard recipes, and distribute to serving areas.
Responsibilities include serving hot items during meal assembly, supervising portioning and presentation, operating and maintaining kitchen equipment, cleaning areas, and complying with safety and quality standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001,
1.To check menus and production sheets to determine type and quantities of meats, vegetables, soups, salads and desserts to be prepared.
2.To plan cooking schedule so that food will be ready at specific times (timeliness).
3.To prepare food in accordance to standard recipes.
4.To distribute foods to various serving areas.
5.To serve hot food items during meal assembly process.
6.To assist and supervise the food portioning and presentation during meal assembly process as assigned.
7.To operate and maintain good condition of all food preparation equipment and utensils. Report immediately to superior about any malfunctions.
8.To clean all equipment, food preparation areas as needed and/or assigned. 9.To indent food ingredient supplies for day’s work as required.
10.To assist in receiving and storing of food times as required.
11.To assist menu planning and development of new recipes.
12.To inspect food for sign of deterioration, mold or other contamination. Report immediately to superior on any spoilage.
13.To attend staff meeting, continuing training lectures/ workshops.
14.To carry out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 1994:-
15.Ensure all policies and procedures of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 JCI Accreditation Standards MSQH Accreditation Standards, HACCP and / or Hospital Accreditation are adhered to and records maintained, if and when these programs are implemented.
16.Ensure to actively participate in all qualityaccreditation activities (e.g. JCI, MSQH, 5S – where applicable)
17.Ensure the policies on patients and family’s right are addressed at all times. 18.Ensure compliance to Patient Safety Goals as safety improvement measure recommended by World Alliance for Patient Safety (2008).
19.Ensure adherence to Standard People Practice (SPP)
20. Work collaboratively with leaders, clinicians, staff, visitors and patients in the development and promotion of behaviors, environment and patient care solutions.
21.To assist in any other responsibility as deemed necessary by immediate Superior or Hospital Management
