Overview

We are seeking a talented and experienced Cook or Assistant Cook to join our team at WESTREET RESOURCES SDN. BHD. This full-time position is based in Kulim Kedah, and you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals for our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare ingredients (cutting, marinating, measuring, etc.) according to recipes.
  • Cook food items using various cooking methods (grilling, frying, baking, steaming, etc.).
  • Ensure food is cooked and presented in a timely, appealing, and hygienic manner.
  • Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
  • Kitchen Hygiene & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
  • Follow proper food handling procedures and sanitation standards.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and tools after use.
  • Dispose of waste and food scraps properly.
  • Inventory & Stock Management: Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report shortages to supervisor.
  • Assist in receiving and storing deliveries properly.
  • Rotate stock (FIFO – First In, First Out) to minimize wastage.
  • Teamwork & Communication: Work closely with other kitchen staff and service crew for smooth operations.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding any issues or special instructions.
  • Assist in training junior or new kitchen staff when required.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all kitchen safety protocols, including handling sharp tools and hot equipment safely.
  • Use protective gear (e.g., gloves, apron) as required.
  • Report accidents, injuries, or equipment malfunctions immediately.
Qualifications & Requirements
