Job summary

Dematic Malaysia is seeking an Electrical Engineer to contribute to the design, testing, and commissioning of material handling and automation systems. The role involves developing functional specifications, budgeting, and liaising with clients and Dematic personnel to ensure project success.

You will oversee electrical installation supervision, generate schematics and PLC programs, and ensure safety and quality standards throughout manufacturing and on-site deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• Experience in electrical drawings design (EPLAN, EEC One, AutoCAD).
• Experience supervising electrical installations.
• Experience in system design including power calculation and safety circuits.
• Experience interfacing materials handling systems with third-party equipment.
• Experience in PLC software development and office testing (TIA Portal, Ladder, SCL).
• Experience in development of testing environments and FATs.
• Experience in management of installation crews.
• Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, safety devices (Profinet, Profisafe, TCP/IP, PN/PN).
• Ability to write technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of schematic drawings, PLC programs and configuration of operator interfaces.
• Preparation of manufacturing and installation specifications.
• Planning and supervision of major controls installations
• Manage the procurement of parts, the manufacture of cabinets and the electrical installation.
• Controls project cost control.
• Testing and commissioning.
• Preparation of test plans and operator & technical manuals.
• Training of client personnel.
• Provide customer support.
• Handover to Customer service.

What We Are Looking For

• Degree in Electrical Engineering/Mechatronics
• Experience in electrical drawings design (EPLAN, EEC One, AutoCAD)
• Experience in electrical installation supervision
• Experience in system design (eg power calculation, circuit protection design, safety control circuit)
• Experience interfacing materials handling systems with third party equipment’s (eg. automatic tag readers, barcode scanners, weigh scales etc)
• Experience in PLC software development and office testing (TIA Portal, Ladder, SCL, STL)
• Experience in development of testing environments and conducting FATs
• Experience in management of installation crews
• Knowledge of configuration, programming and commissioning of PLCs, variable speed drives and safety devices (Profinet, Profisafe, AS-I, TCP/IP, PN/PN, SEW Movitools, Movimot, Moviaxis.)
• Knowledge of materials handling system controls (WCS and PLC integration)
• Writing of technical documentation
