Job summary

Gadang Group of Companies is seeking a Project Manager – Civil (Waterworks / Non-Revenue Water) to lead civil engineering and construction projects in Sabah on a contract basis. The role focuses on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to high quality standards, coordinating with clients, consultants, and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have 8–10 years of relevant experience in waterworks, NRW projects, and strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in civil construction and waterworks projects.
• Strong experience in water supply, water distribution networks, waterworks or NRW projects.
• Knowledge of NRW works, water loss reduction, leak detection, DMA, flow monitoring and pressure management is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of project planning, construction methodology, contract administration, cost control and project management.
• Familiar with Malaysian standards, authority requirements and construction practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organise and oversee all phases of civil engineering and construction projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
• Manage project teams, subcontractors and suppliers for effective coordination and timely completion.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, schedules and cost analyses.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Manage project budgets, monitor costs and maximise profitability while maintaining quality.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure standards and safety requirements.
• Communicate regularly with stakeholders regarding project status, challenges and milestones.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains across project delivery.
