Job summary

Gadang Group of Companies is seeking a Project Engineer (Civil) to lead site supervision and manage civil engineering projects in Sabah. This on-site contract role requires coordinating with contractors, consultants and clients to ensure work meets specifications, quality standards and timelines.

The ideal candidate will hold a Civil Engineering degree and have 3–4 years of relevant experience, with familiarity in BIM/CAD tools and Malaysian regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 3-4 years of civil engineering project management or site supervision experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil and structural practices, building codes and construction standards.
• Proficiency in project management software and MS Office applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; team-oriented.
• Understanding of HSE practices in construction.
• Experience with BIM or CAD is advantageous.
• Experience in Malaysian construction projects and local regulatory requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise day-to-day construction activities on site to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and maintain comprehensive documentation of project progress, including daily reports and photographs.
• Liaise effectively with contractors, sub-contractors, consultants and clients for seamless communication.
• Review and approve construction methods, materials and technical submissions from contractors.
• Identify and resolve technical issues and site challenges in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare progress reports, variation orders and other project documentation as required.
• Support project managers in budget tracking, cost control and resource allocation.
• Conduct quality control inspections and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
