Job summary

Yu Tong Construction Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Crane Riggerman / Signalman to join our Penang site. You will rig loads, communicate with crane operators, and ensure lifting operations are conducted safely.

This contract position offers hands-on experience on diverse projects, with emphasis on safety, procedures, and teamwork. Candidates should hold a valid Rigging/Signalman certification and have proven site experience.

Qualifications

• Valid Crane Riggerman / Signalman certification or equivalent.
• Proven experience on construction sites as a Crane Riggerman or Signalman.
• Understanding of rigging principles, load calculations, and lifting safety procedures.
• Strong communication with crane operators and site personnel.
• Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and prepare rigging equipment including slings, shackles, spreader bars and other lifting apparatus before each use.
• Attach and secure loads to crane hooks using appropriate rigging techniques and ensuring loads are properly balanced.
• Communicate with crane operators using hand signals and radio communication to direct and coordinate lifting operations.
• Monitor loads during lifting to ensure they remain stable and secure throughout the movement.
• Identify and report potential hazards or unsafe conditions on the construction site.
• Maintain accurate records of rigging equipment inspections and maintenance.
• Assist with the positioning of loads at their final destination.
• Comply with all relevant safety regulations, standards and company policies.
• Undertake toolbox talks and safety briefings with the site team.
