Job summary

DayOne is seeking a skilled Contract Manager/Quantity Surveyor to lead end-to-end contract management for our projects in Kuala Lumpur. You will implement company policies, draft and review contracts, and coordinate with consultants from pre-qualification through tendering and award decisions.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Contract Management with at least 4 years in construction, QS consultancy, or development companies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveyor / Contract Management or equivalent.
• At least minimum 4 years working experience with construction, QS consultancy or Developer companies.
• Thai project experience is added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end contract management lifecycle.
• Implement all company policies, activities, and procedures.
• Draft and review contractual documents; handle disputes.
• Pre-qualify consultants and contractors; evaluate and recommend to Management.
• Request for fee proposals from consultants and onboarding of successful consultant.
• Liaise with consultants through tendering: strategize packages, evaluate form of contract, tender conditions.
• Review tender and contract documents prepared by consultants.
• Manage tendering: call tenders, review reports, interview, negotiate, and prepare award recommendations.
• Liaise with QS to provide monthly project financial statements.
• Contract administration and vendor management; monitor payments and final accounts.
• Other tasks assigned by Immediate Superior.

Job Description

• Responsible for end to end spectrum of Contract Management.


• To implement all policies, activities, procedures as relevant and required by the company.


• Responsible for drafting and review contractual documents and dealing with contractual disputes and/or issues.


• Pre-qualification of consultants and contractors, evaluate and recommend to Management.


• Request for fee proposal from multi-disciplinary consultants and onboarding of successful consultant.


• Liaison with consultants for the whole process of tendering exercise involving of strategizing the tender packages, evaluating the suitable of a particular Form of Contract and specific conditions of tendering.


• Review tender and contract documents prepared by the consultants.


• In charge of tendering exercise, including calling of tender, review tender reports, attend tender interviews, negotiate, finalize, and prepare recommendation report to Management for award of contracts.


• Liaison with the consultant QS to provide monthly project financial statement for reporting purpose.


• Contract Administration and Vendor Management.


• Follow payments submitted by Contactor and Consultants.


• Review the Statement of Final Accounts prepared by the consultants.


• Another task which assigned by Immediate Superior

Experience & Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveyor / Contract Management or equivalent


• At least minimum 4 years working experience with construction, QS consultancy or Developer companies


• Thai project experience is added advantage

Skills & Knowledge

• Strong knowledge of pre and post contract works especially variety form of contracts, cost control budget and contractual issues


• Possess excellent negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills


• Knowledge in Microsoft office, excel and words
