The Sourcing King Pte Ltd is building a founding marketing team in Kuala Lumpur. This lead role owns what gets published across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube, and signs off on all creative output. You will brief production, guide a Foshan team, and drive calendar strategy for multiple brands from Kuala Lumpur.
You’ll manage the calendar, set briefs, ensure quality, and translate briefs into actionable production plans while maintaining high standards and consistent tone of voice.
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Hybrid during office launch. Occasional travel to Singapore and to Foshan,
China.
Reports to: Head of Marketing (Singapore)
Brands: The Kurater — bespoke furniture kuration and sourcing for Singapore homes. The Sourcing King - sourcing for developers, contractors and project owners. A further brand in the group is planned within the year.
Works with: A videographer and three video editors in Foshan, two graphic designers, a senior content executive, an English content and SEO specialist, and a platform lead for Red Note and TikTok.
We are a Singapore-headquartered sourcing group. The Kurater kurates and sources bespoke furniture direct from established factories in Foshan, China, for Singapore homeowners — no showroom markups, no ready stock, everything made to the space. The Sourcing King does the same thing for developers, contractors and project owners.
We hold no inventory. We compete on factory access, speed and spec-matching — and, increasingly, on content. Video is our catalogue. We are now building a founding marketing team in Kuala Lumpur, and this is one of its first roles.
You own what gets published, and whether it meets its objective.
We publish continuously across our brands on Meta, TikTok, YouTube. You are the creative authority across every brand we run and the owner of the calendar that drives them. You brief the production team and you sign the work off. You are close enough to the craft to show someone what you mean — but your day goes on direction, not on execution.
We are looking for someone who can be handed an outcome and return a plan. If the brief is \"we need a monthly publishing schedule for a brand that has never marketed before,\" we expect you to come back with the approach, the formats, the shoot requirement and the schedule — not to ask what to do first.
Publishing. Volume and consistency of published output across every brand on the different social media platforms. You hold the monthly number, and it is yours alone.
Audience. Growth of our owned audiences. This is a target you own and act on.
Quality. Whether the work is any good. You are the final gate before anything is published.
Own the calendar. Building and maintaining the content calendar across every brand, published at least two weeks ahead so the production team can plan shoots against it.
Set the brief. Deciding the formats, angles and hooks for each brand. Writing or approving every script before it reaches production, in English, so nothing is lost in translation on the way to Foshan.
Hold the standard. Nothing is published without your sign-off against the brand standard. Where that standard does not yet exist in writing, you create it — brand guide, templates, tone of voice, a shot-list format the production team can work from.
Direct the team. Briefing the videographer and editors on what each shoot needs to produce, and the graphic designers on what each campaign needs. You are their creative lead.
Read the numbers. Watching what performs on socials, getting feedback from the sales team, deciding what to make more of, and feeding that back into next month’s calendar.
This is a lead role, and we have staffed it as one. You will have a production team. We are deliberate about what is not yours:
Video editing — three dedicated editors.
Shooting — a dedicated videographer and photographer based in Foshan.
Graphic design, decks, lookbooks and static ads — two graphic designers.
Paid media, landing pages and lead generation — a separate performance marketing manager.
You should be capable in design and editing tools — enough to build a template, fix a cut, or show an editor what you mean. You will not be spending your week in them. If what you want is a hands‑on production role, this is not it.
Experience. Five or more years in content, social or creative, including at least two directing or leading others’ output rather than only producing your own. Agency or in‑house, both are fine.
Volume at pace. You have owned a publishing schedule at real volume across more than one brand or product line, and hit it consistently. Tell us the numbers.
English. Native‑level written English and a strong sense of how a line sounds when it is said out loud. Our content is spoken to the camera; scripts that read well on paper and die on screen are the commonest failure.
Remote and cross‑cultural direction. Comfortable briefing people who are not in the room and not in your first language. Much of the production team sits in Foshan and works in Chinese. Written clarity matters more here than it would elsewhere.
Judgement you can articulate. You can look at a piece of content and say precisely why it does or does not work, and what to change. Discernment which you can explain is worth more to us than discernment which you cannot.
Hands‑on capability. Fluent in the tools — Figma or Adobe, CapCut or Premiere — enough to set templates and direct credibly.
Builder’s temperament. This is a founding team in a new office. Systems will not be waiting for you; you will be writing them.
Experience marketing to both consumer and B2B audiences — this role does both.
Furniture, interiors, property, construction or manufacturing exposure.
Mandarin/Cantonese, for working with the Foshan team. Not required; the working language is English.
Experience standing up a brand from scratch. You will get the chance to do it here.
