Mediconsult in Malaysia is seeking an experienced biomedical/technical consultant to coordinate design, planning and procurement of medical equipment for international healthcare development projects. The role spans Concept to final acceptance, including design development, tendering and site coordination for installation, testing and commissioning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in biomedical/technical consulting or related environment.
• Experience in hospital construction management is an advantage.
• Understanding of architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical services is beneficial.
• Familiarity with medical equipment technology and hospital workflow.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project implementation and supervision of technical works across pre-installation M&E coordination for medical equipment.
• Provide technical support in equipment planning and engineering support during project execution.
• Prepare generic technical specifications for equipment and organize project documentation.
• Liaise with equipment vendors for catalogs, shop drawings and technical data.
• Coordinate with Client, Contractors and Consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on medical equipment technology, standards, safety, maintenance and commissioning.
• Support senior consultants on equipment planning and related matters.
• Demonstrate prudent practices to protect company assets.

Job description

The candidate will play a key role in providing consulting, programming, planning andcoordinating of technical / biomedical engineering services on the medical equipment needs forour international healthcare development projects. The scope for biomedical engineering willcover all key project phases of a Design and Build Healthcare Development Project fromConcept/Schematic Design, Detailed Design Development, Tendering and Constructions(technical/site coordination for equipment installation, testing & commissioning and final acceptance).

Key Responsibilities

Oversee project implementation, supervision and monitoring of all projects related technicalworks such as preparation & coordination of pre-installation M&E engineering servicesrequirements, for installation of medical and non-medical equipment with other Consultants(Architect, Mechanical, Electrical & Structural Engineers), site engineers & Contractors.

Provide technical support in matters related to equipment planning and technical engineeringsupport during project implementation.

Familiar with the preparation of generic technical specifications for equipment andorganization of project documentation.

Liaison with equipment vendors on request and submission of catalogues, shop drawings &technical data.

Continuous coordination with Client, Contractor and Consultants.

Continuous updating and familiarization with the current and latest development in medicalequipment/healthcare technology, equipment standards, hospital practices & safety,engineering tools, maintenance, testing and commissioning of equipment.

Provide support and assistance to the Sr. Principal & consultants – MT in all equipmentplanning and technical / biomedical related matters as required.

Exercise care and adopt prudent practices to manage, safeguard and protect the businessesand assets of the Company.

Requirements

Not less than 5 years of experience in the relevant environment/field.

Experience in hospital construction management is an advantage.

Understand all aspects of the job with basic site preparation knowledge in architectural,structural, mechanical, and electrical services

Well verse in medical equipment functionality and utilization & medical equipmentengineering services

Good knowledge in hospital setup with basic clinical workflow related knowledge and basicprocurement background

Must be computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office (Microsoft WORD, EXCEL &ACCESS)

Good communication and report writing skills

Good organizational and administrative skill is an advantage

Must possess good analytical skills and ability to solving work problems

Must understand all aspects of the job, is able to work independently and yet a team player,

Must have good initiatives or creativities and a desire to learn

Ability to interact professionally with healthcare clients, design team members, constructionteams and equipment vendors

Sound knowledge of current medical equipment technology

Familiarity with AUTO CAD is desirable
