Jin Hong Contracting Sdn Bhd, based in Gelang Patah, Johor, is recruiting a Construction Safety Supervisor (Yellow Book) to join our team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on upholding HSE standards across multiple construction sites and ensuring regulatory compliance to protect our workforce.

The successful candidate will conduct safety inspections, develop policies, deliver training, and investigate incidents, maintaining comprehensive records while aligning with CIDB requirements and ISO

Qualifications

• Valid Yellow Book (Construction Industry Safety & Health Supervisor) certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Supervisor or in a similar HSE role.
• Solid knowledge of Malaysian CIDB safety regulations and guidelines.
• Proven track record in hazard identification and incident investigation.
• Strong communication and ability to engage all levels on site.
• Experience delivering safety training programmes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections and site audits to identify hazards.
• Develop and maintain safety policies and method statements for construction activities.
• Provide induction and safety training for all personnel on site.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor PPE compliance across on-site workers.
• Coordinate with project managers and sub-contracted teams on safety requirements.
• Maintain safety records and risk assessments per Yellow Book standards.
• Lead toolbox talks and safety awareness campaigns.
• Coordinate emergency drills and response procedures on site.
• Report safety KPIs and recommend HSE improvements.

About the role

Jin Hong Contracting Sdn Bhd is seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Safety Supervisor (Yellow Book) to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Gelang Patah, Johor, this is an urgent recruitment opportunity for a professional who is passionate about maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices on construction sites. As a Construction Safety Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, protecting our workforce, and maintaining a secure working environment across all our construction projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in fostering a safety-first culture and minimising workplace incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily safety inspections and site audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Develop, implement and maintain comprehensive safety policies, procedures and work method statements specific to construction activities
• Provide induction and safety training to all construction personnel, ensuring they understand hazard identification and safe work practices
• Investigate accidents, near-misses and unsafe incidents, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Monitor and manage personal protective equipment (PPE) compliance across all workers on site
• Liaise with project managers, contractors and subcontractors to integrate safety requirements into construction schedules and methodologies
• Maintain accurate safety records, risk assessments and documentation in accordance with Yellow Book requirements and regulatory standards
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness campaigns to promote continuous improvement in safety culture
• Coordinate emergency response procedures and conduct regular safety drills on site
• Report on key safety performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations for HSE improvements

What we're looking for

• Valid Yellow Book (Construction Industry Safety & Health Supervisor) certification or equivalent formal qualification in construction safety
• Minimum 5 years' professional experience as a Construction Safety Supervisor or similar HSE role within the construction industry
• Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian construction safety regulations, guidelines and best practices, including the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) requirements
• Proven track record in hazard identification, risk assessment and incident investigation on active construction sites
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with workers at all levels, from labourers to senior management
• Competency in developing and delivering safety training programmes to diverse audiences
• Proficiency in using safety management systems and maintaining detailed HSE documentation
• Physical fitness and ability to conduct regular site inspections and walkabouts in varying weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining comprehensive safety records and compliance documentation
• Preferred experience working on large-scale commercial or infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of ISO 4501 or similar occupational health and safety management standards is advantageous
