Job summary

Boon Boon Builder Sdn Bhd is seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This full-time role supports planning, execution and delivery of construction projects, coordinating activities, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring quality.

You will liaise with clients, contractors and authorities, perform site inspections, prepare documentation and contribute to design reviews.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field is required.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in project engineering, construction management or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methodologies and project management practices.
• Proficiency in project management software and MS Office applications.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Valid driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
• Professional memberships with relevant engineering bodies (such as PEM or BEM) are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee day-to-day project activities, including scheduling, resource allocation and progress monitoring.
• Conduct site inspections and quality audits to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards and contractual requirements.
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, drawings, specifications and as-built records.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors and relevant authorities to facilitate effective communication and problem resolution.
• Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies to minimise delays and cost overruns.
• Support the project manager in budget management and cost control activities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety protocols and environmental requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals and tender documentation as required.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to optimise project outcomes.
