Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a detail-oriented Account Assistant to support our accounting and finance operations in Sabah. The role handles daily accounting tasks, maintains records, and assists in financial reporting, with construction-sector experience advantageous.

Responsibilities include data entry, invoicing, payments, month-end closings, bank reconciliation, and project expense monitoring. Proficiency in UBS and Excel is required, with a diploma/degree in accounting or finance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of working experience in accounting.
• Proficient in UBS Accounting Software (mandatory).
• Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience in the construction industry is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Handle daily accounting transactions including data entry, invoicing, and payment processing.
• Maintain and update accounting records using UBS Accounting Software.
• Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, and basic financial documents.
• Assist in monthly closing, bank reconciliation, and accounts payable/receivable.
• Monitor project-related expenses and costs (construction projects).
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal departments on accounting matters.
• Assist in preparation of reports for management and auditors.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards.
