BROOKS AUTOMATION MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. seeks an Electrical Component Engineer to join our team, focusing on component lifecycle management and supply‑chain risk mitigation.

You will work with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to ensure long‑term product sustainability. The role emphasizes obsolescence management, BOM analysis, and evaluating alternate components using SiliconExpert, with regular collaboration across global teams and possible early/late calls to support international

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience on component engineering, SiliconExpert, Lifecycle management, BOM analysis and scrubbing and alternate component validation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and external suppliers.
• Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment and build productive relationships with stakeholders across multiple regions.
• Comfortable collaborating with geographically dispersed teams across different time zones.
• Flexible and willing to attend occasional early morning or evening calls to support global projects and stakeholders, including regular interaction with a U.S.-based manager and team members.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Learn complex systems quickly and work independently.
• Manage component lifecycle risks (EOL, PCN, LTB) and supply chain disruptions.
• Perform lifecycle risk assessments using SiliconExpert.
• Conduct BOM scrubs to identify obsolete or NRND parts and single-source risks.
• Evaluate alternate components for form/fit/function and prepare technical comparisons.
• Collaborate with Agile teams to create consistent part descriptions and lifecycle data.
• Support RoHS, REACH, Conflict materials and Tariffs compliance.
• Assist with ECOs and MCOs.
