Job summary

HMSHost Malaysia, a global leader in airport F&B, is seeking a Commis Cook to support preparation and cooking of menu items in accordance with established recipes and standards.

Based at KLIA venues, you will assist senior chefs in mise en place, inventory, and daily operations, ensure quality and presentation, maintain cleanliness, and adapt to both fine dining plating and high-volume QSR service.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a kitchen setting (fine dining or QSR or Wok) is an advantage.
• Basic culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Passion for food and commitment to delivering quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to established recipes and standards.
• Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations, including mise en place and inventory management.
• Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation align with brand and customer expectations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service during peak hours.
• Adapt to both fine dining plating techniques and QSR speed and efficiency requirements.
