Job summary

Ryt Bank in Malaysia seeks a Senior Manager, Collections Strategy to own recovery outcomes from missed payments to write-offs. You will design strategy, run experiments, and partner with risk, data, legal, and product to drive decisions.

This hands-on role requires SQL, data analytics, and cross-functional leadership to optimize channels and vendor performance while maintaining compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in collections strategy, credit lifecycle or portfolio management at a bank, card issuer, BNPL provider or consumer lender.
• Hands-on ownership of contact strategy or treatment design.
• Comfort writing SQL against a data warehouse and performing product analytics.
• Experience designing and reading controlled tests (champion/challenger or phased rollouts).
• Ability to own outcomes without owning the delivery teams, across risk, operations, marketing, engineering and vendors.
• Clear, concise writing for leadership and ability to drive decisions.
• Knowledge of Malaysian collections conduct (BNM rules, CCRIS, PDPA) is a plus.
• Product management experience and in-flight feature requirements is a plus.
• Experience with dialer/AI voice bots/collection engines is a plus.
• Python or R beyond SQL, warehouse-based experimentation is a plus.
• BNPL or digital bank experience in SEA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the collections outcome: cure in the first week and first month, roll rates between delinquency buckets, recovery after ninety days and from write-offs, cost per ringgit collected.
• Translate the current collections plan into an execution-ready strategy with targets and sequencing.
• Lead monthly collections forum and weekly execution checks with operations to catch faults early.
• Design test-and-learn programmes within guardrails and ensure compliance before launches.
• Define channel interaction rules (WhatsApp, email, calls) for marketing and operations.
• Oversee AI call-bot vendors and collection agencies with KPI frameworks and governance.
• Document and justify product fixes like self-serve repayment or promise-to-pay capture.
• Collaborate with risk, operations, marketing, engineering and vendors to move outcomes.
