Job summary

upscale is seeking a Production Programmer to create, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for fiber laser cutting, punching, bending, and welding of server racks and data centre components. You will translate drawings into precise programs and work with design engineers and operators to boost efficiency and quality.

You will manage CAM tools, NC/G-code, and program databases, while driving material utilization and production timelines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of CNC programming experience, preferably in sheet metal fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machines (Amada, Trumpf or equivalent).
• Proficiency with CAM software and familiarity with G-code and NC programming standards.
• Understanding of laser cutting, punching, bending, welding and powder coating.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise CNC programs for laser cutting, punching, bending and welding.
• Translate drawings, 3D models, and BOMs into accurate programs.
• Prepare setup sheets, nesting layouts, and work instructions.
• Optimize material usage and cycle times through efficient nesting and tool paths.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance and engineering on tool compatibility.
• Troubleshoot and revise programs to improve output quality and throughput.
• Maintain programming databases and revision control.
• Support new product introductions with prototype programs.
• Collaborate with QA to ensure tolerances and specifications are met.
• Provide technical training to operators on setup and execution.
• Identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement.
