Job summary

ICHOR Systems Malaysia Sdn Bhd is hiring a hands-on CNC Machinist in Shah Alam to support high-precision component production for the semiconductor industry. You will set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, interpret drawings, and assist quality inspectors to ensure part accuracy.

The role requires strong CNC skills, GD&T understanding, and a detail-oriented mindset. It offers a 12-hour day/night shift with overtime and weekend support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a hands-on CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Malaysia, Shah Alam, and support the production of high-precision components for the semiconductor industry. In this role, you will set up and operate CNC machines, interpret engineering drawings, perform precision inspection, and troubleshoot machining issues. This is a great opportunity to build your technical skills and gain valuable experience in a high-precision manufacturing environment. This is a 12-hour day/night shift with flexibility to support overtime and weekend work when required.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines with minimal supervision according to Work Instructions and Tooling Lists.

Install, set up, and adjust tooling offsets, fixtures, work holding, and machine offsets.

Meet daily production targets while maintaining consistent part quality.

Load programs and safely prove out new FAI jobs.

Troubleshoot machining issues and work with supervisors, CAD/CAM programmers, and Quality Inspectors to resolve problems.

Read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation.

Inspect in-process and finished parts using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring tools.

Support the training of operators and fitters as required.

Perform routine preventive maintenance on machines.

Requirements

Diploma or Certificate in machining, engineering or equivalent.

At least 2 years of machining experience in CNC mills, lathes, or multi-axis.

Fresh graduate with relevant machining qualification is welcome to apply.

Strong CNC setup and operating skills.

Ability to read and understand technical drawing and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Proficient with precision measuring instruments.

Strong attention to detail and quality mindset.

Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Good hand–eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Experience in high-precision or high-mix/low-volume environment is preferred.

Experience with Haas, Fanuc, Heidenhain, or similar controls is preferred.

Able to commit to a 12-hour day/night shift, including weekends, and support overtime when required.
