Job summary

TBS Precision Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled CNC Lathe technician to set up and program CNC Auto Lathe machines for high-precision work in Penang, Malaysia. You will read engineering drawings, choose tooling, and optimize machining parameters to ensure first-piece quality and ongoing production efficiency.

Ideal candidates have hands-on lathe experience, can work independently or as part of a team, and are capable of troubleshooting tool and dimensional issues while maintaining strict

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in CNC Auto Lathe setting and programming.
• Able to independently set up machines and modify/create CNC programs.
• Good knowledge of cutting tools, inserts and machining parameters.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Experience in precision machining is preferred.
• Experience with automatic lathe / sliding head / Swiss-type machines is an advantage.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Auto Lathe machines for precision machining.
• Create, edit and optimize CNC programs according to engineering drawings.
• Perform machine setup, tooling selection, tool offset adjustment and parameter setting.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Select suitable cutting tools, inserts and machining conditions.
• Perform first-piece inspection and make necessary machine/program adjustments.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling and dimensional issues.
• Monitor machine performance and production output.
