Job summary

PERSOL Malaysia seeks an experienced CNC Setter/Machinist to set up, operate and support CNC milling machines, producing precise components from engineering drawings and production requirements. The role emphasizes machine setup, tooling, offsets, and first-piece accuracy, while aiding daily shop-floor machining tasks.

You will read drawings and GD&T, install tools and fixtures, adjust offsets and cutting parameters, perform first-piece checks, and support operators during production runs.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Machining, Manufacturing, or related field.
• 3–5 years experience as CNC Setter or Machinist
• Strong knowledge of CNC milling machine setup
• Familiar with CNC controllers (Fanuc / Mitsubishi)
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and tolerances
• Experience machining aluminium, steel, stainless steel, or plastic is an advantage
• Willing to work shifts and overtime when required
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, and quality-focused
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Able to work independently and support team members
• Responsible, disciplined, and safety-conscious

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC milling machines according to work instructions
• Install tools, fixtures, and workpieces; set tool and work offsets
• Perform first-piece machining and ensure dimensional accuracy
• Adjust offsets and cutting parameters to maintain quality and consistency
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and basic GD&T
• Perform in-process inspection using measuring instruments (caliper, micrometer, gauges)
• Troubleshoot basic machining, tooling, and setup issues
• Support CNC operators and guide them during production runs
• Maintain machine cleanliness and follow 5S and safety procedures
• Record production data, setup details, and issues accurately
