Job summary

SolidCAM APAC Pte Ltd in Malaysia seeks an Application Engineer specializing in CAM software to demonstrate SolidCAM capabilities and support customers in optimizing CNC machining processes.

You will collaborate with resellers and post-sales teams to ensure successful implementation, provide training, and deliver technical demonstrations to drive adoption of SolidCAM subscriptions and solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Experience in the manufacturing or CNC machining industry is preferred.
• Experience with CAM software is an advantage.
• Knowledge of CNC machining processes and manufacturing applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop a strong understanding of SolidCAM, including its features, capabilities, modules, version upgrades, machine simulation, and integrations.
• Provide technical consultation and application support for SolidCAM users.
• Work closely with resellers to provide technical support, product demonstrations, and presentations.
• Demonstrate the benefits of SolidCAM subscriptions, modules, and solutions to existing and potential customers.
• Support resellers during customer meetings, technical discussions, and product demonstrations when required.
• Conduct SolidCAM training for customers and resellers.
• Provide post-sales technical support and troubleshooting.
• Help customers maximize the value of their SolidCAM subscription and improve their existing machining processes.

Job Overview

We are looking for a talented and motivated Application Engineer specializing in CAM software to join our team in Malaysia. The successful candidate will play an important role in demonstrating the technical capabilities and value of SolidCAM solutions to existing and potential customers.

You will work closely with our resellers and post-sales customer support teams to ensure the successful implementation and effective use of SolidCAM, helping customers optimize their CNC machining and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Expertise

• Develop a strong understanding of SolidCAM, including its features, capabilities, modules, version upgrades, machine simulation, and integrations.
• Provide technical consultation and application support for SolidCAM users.

Sales & Reseller Support

• Work closely with resellers to provide technical support, product demonstrations, and presentations.
• Demonstrate the benefits of SolidCAM subscriptions, modules, and solutions to existing and potential customers.
• Support resellers during customer meetings, technical discussions, and product demonstrations when required.

Customer Consultation

• Understand customers' manufacturing requirements, machining processes, and challenges.
• Recommend suitable SolidCAM solutions based on customer requirements.
• Provide technical advice to help customers improve their machining efficiency and productivity.

Training & Technical Support

• Conduct SolidCAM training for customers and resellers.
• Provide post-sales technical support and troubleshooting.
• Help customers maximize the value of their SolidCAM subscription and improve their existing machining processes.

Customer & Reseller Feedback

• Act as a technical link between customers, resellers, and the SolidCAM team.
• Collect customer feedback and provide valuable insights to improve products, training, and support.

Training & Documentation

• Develop training materials, technical guides, and documentation.
• Prepare materials covering SolidCAM features, subscription benefits, best practices, and application workflows.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Experience in the manufacturing or CNC machining industry is preferred.
• Experience with CAM software is an advantage.
• Knowledge of CNC machining processes and manufacturing applications.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel to customer and reseller sites when required.
• Proactive, responsible, and customer-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CAD/CAM software and CNC machining processes.
• Familiarity with CAM software such as SolidCAM, Mastercam, Autodesk CAM, Siemens NX CAM, or other CAM solutions.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing technical, application, support, or consultancy role.
• Experience in CNC milling, turning, or mill-turn applications.
• Good verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong willingness to learn new technologies and develop technical expertise.
