Job summary

Penang Swimming Club invites an experienced Club Manager/General Manager to lead day-to-day operations, staff management, and service excellence. You will work with the Main Committee and HODs to deliver exceptional member experiences while balancing profitability and growth.

The role requires strategic planning, budget development, and effective leadership to drive continuous improvement and compliance with regulations and club policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operations functions of the Club
• Hold regular briefings and meetings with all heads of departments
• Ensure full compliance of Club's operating controls, SOP's, policies, procedures and service standard's
• Handling complaints and oversee the service recovery procedures
• Draw up plans and budget concepts (revenues, costs, etc)
• Manage on-going profitability of the Club, ensuring revenue and members' satisfaction targets are met and exceeded
• Develop improvement actions and carry out cost savings
• Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the Club and management
• Develop Club budget goals and set other short- and long-term strategic goals for the Club
• A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies
• Coordination with HOD's for the execution of all activities and functions
• Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with department heads on a daily basis
• Manage and develop the Club's executive team to ensure career progression and Development
• Be accountable for responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all members' complaints
• Provide effective leadership to Club team members
• Ensure full compliance of Club's operating controls, SOP's, policies, procedures
• Lead in all aspects of business planning
• Respond to audits to ensure continual Improvement is achieved
• Determination of the workforce, recruitment and hiring of new staff, supervision of sufficient introduction, execution or performance reviews and training of staff
• Responsible for legalization, Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations and other legal requirements

Job description

1. The Club Manager/General Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations at the Club, to day-to-day staff management. You should be an ambassador for the brand and the Club.

2. Provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of the service culture, maximized operations and members' satisfaction.

3. Work closely with the Main Committee, Sub-Committees, Sections & Groups and staff

4 Responsible for managing the Club's management team (HODs) and overall Club targets to deliver an excellent members' experience. You would also be required to manage between profitability and members satisfaction measures.
